The Great American Read

The Great American Read is an eight-part series on the channel PBS that explores and celebrates the power of reading, told through the prism of America’s 100 best-loved novels (as chosen in a national survey). To coincide with the premiere of the show, I thought that I would undertake the task of reading all of the books that will be explored on the show, in an attempt to compare and contrast them to the books of The BBC Big Read to learn a little more about what connects (and separates!) us from our trans-Atlantic counterparts.
