24 in 48 Readathon (January 2018) - Progress Report

Sunday, 28 January 2018

Come on, Cass, you can do this.

Hour 5 (Hour 0) - Welcome to the Readathon
Thanks to a whole mess pertaining to timezones, hour 0 equals 5am here in the UK and if you think I'm going to start a readathon at 5am, you have lost your mind. So therefore, I will be adjusting the updates so I do not end up incredibly confused - reading is exhausting and let's be honest, I do not have enough brain-power left to think coherently about readathon update schedules!
Hours spent reading: 3
Total pages read: 235 (196 of Everything I Never Told You, 25 of Child Taken, and 15 of Ready Player One)
Introduction Survey
1. Where are you from, where are you now, and what’s the furthest from home you traveled in the past year?
I'm from Leeds, UK. And the furthest I've travelled is to Budapest last March.
2. Have you done the 'thon before? How many times?! If it’s your first time with us, where did you hear about the Readathon?
This is my first time! I heard about it on Wednesday (I think) from watching SquibblesReads' TBR video on YouTube.
3. Are you readathon-ing alone? If not, who are you doing the Readathon with?
Just little ol' me!
4. Do you have a stack, or are you winging it? OR what book are you kicking the Readathon off with?
I have a stack of TEN books - over-ambitious, I know. Although I think it's going to come in handy because I tend to get bored easily.
5. What’s your Hogwarts house?
Slytherin through and through!

Hour 17 (Hour 12) - Fantastic First Lines
1/4 of the way through! Wow, time definitely goes fast when it is spent solely reading and sleeping! I feel so much more chill (and awake) than this point in my last readathon and I definitely feel like the 24 in 48 is more my style.
Hours spent reading: 6
Total pages read: 431 (131 of The Great Gatsby and 65 of German Girl)
Mini Challenge
"In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I've been turning over in my mind ever since." - The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald

Hour 29 (Hour 24)
Seems as though this is going to be my last update, folks! My old arch-nemesis, chronic stomach pain, has resurfaced once again and that means I'm probably going to be out of it for the next couple of days. But even though I only got the chance to read for a mere day, this readathon has pushed me to read for far longer than I would have otherwise and for that, I am really glad I participated! Let us just hope that, in the next one, I am back to fighting form.
Hours spent reading: 10
Total pages read: 732 (360 of The German Girl)
