This is Halloween: 2017 Costume Inspo

Saturday, 14 October 2017

If you haven't noticed by now, Halloween is my favourite holiday. But unfortunately, this year I'm in the throes of the worst of my chronic illness and I'm probably not going to have the chance of dressing up and embarrassing myself.
But has this stopped the costume planning? Hell no, it hasn't. Just because I'm not going to be able to dress up, that doesn't mean that I can't daydream (not going to lie, at this point I am probably going to buy one just to wear in the house).
So here are my top picks of costume inspiration for Halloween 2017.

Daenerys Targaryen from 'Game of Thrones'
With her move to the harsher climate of Dragonstone during season seven, her new winter-appropriate wardrobe lends itself to entirely new interpretation of Dany this Halloween. With ice-blonde hair and pale furs, you will be the most icily eye-catching (and more importantly, the warmest!) at any party this Halloween.

Eleven from 'Stranger Things'
The top Halloween costume for 2016 is most certainly not going to be shoved off of the top spot for 2017. With Stranger Things making its comeback just in time for Halloween, Eleven certainly has to be the most iconic (and the most talked-about) costume on this list.

Wonder Woman
This year Wonder Woman showed that female-fronted superhero movies could bring in big money at the cinema, and dressing up as everybody's favourite Amazonian this Halloween is the perfect time to celebrate what we always knew.

IT has been the most-talked about horror movie of the year, and what better way to scare the hell out of your friends than to dress up as this iconic Stephen King villain? You won't face the danger of no one knowing who you're supposed to be, but you're probably going to bump into a whole bunch of people who are dressed the same

Belle from 'Beauty and the Beast'
Belle is undoubtedly the Disney Princess of the year and the costume to wear when scaring your friends is not your top priority for Halloween. Relive all of your childhood dreams and even drunkenly burst into a song or two - now if only the costume came with a library...

Louise Belcher from 'Bob's Burgers'
Louise has to be the most quotable and most relatably-evil cartoon character of all time - and she's super easy to dress up as! Just add a green dress to her iconic pink bunny ears and you've got the most dastardly adorable Halloween costume ever!

Veronica Sawyer from 'Heathers'
Rebelling against the colour-coded outfits of her clique, Veronica opts for black over her assigned blue uniform, pulling it off in the way only a grunge princess like her can. Any of Winona Ryder's characters are pretty appropriate for the season of Halloween (Lydia from Beetlejuice, anyone?), but Veronica has always held a special place in my heart and that's why she makes this list.
